An exhibition with the theme of “Chinese time-honored brand greets the Spring Festival in the Imperial Palace” is scheduled to be held from the January 28 to February 10, 2019 in Beijing, capital of China. 45 enterprises of Shandong Province are currently listed to attend the exhibition.
Spring Festival is considered as the most important festival in China. The exhibition is aimed at bringing visitors a different atmosphere of the lunar New Year and a special cultural experience. The combination of the Spring Festival and time-honored brands is some kind of mutual complementation of the palace culture and folk traditional culture. The exhibition provides an opportunity for visitors to dig into the common profound history of the Imperial Palace and time-honored brands, appreciate the charm of traditional Chinese culture, and inject fun into the celebration of the Spring Festival through purchasing some time-honored products.
Shandong’s time-honored brands will be the main participants at the exhibition while some other well-known time-honored brands from Beijing, Tianjin, Jilin, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Henan and Shanxi are also allegedly to be invited to the exhibition. The exhibition will focus on time-honored delicacies, special purchases for the Spring Festival, cultural commodities, characteristic handicrafts and craftsmanship of intangible cultural heritage.
Through the activity, it is expected to promote both excellent traditional culture and time-honored brands. The number of exhibitors will reach 150 during the activity held in the garden of and the square outside the Hall of Benevolent Peace.
The selection of Shandong’s exhibitors basically abided by four principles, that is, the products should be easy to carry, be related to the customs of the Spring Festival, reflect the local characteristics and have a certain historical origin with the Palace Museum.
The 45 selected Shandong enterprises are composed of 40 most representative time-honored brand enterprises and 5 intangible cultural heritage enterprises.
Wang Hongping, vice director-general of the Department of Commerce of Shandong Province, said that the activity is an exploration of integrating the profound cultural deposits and craftsmanship spirit shared by time-honored brands and the Palace Museum into the modern creativities, as well as a beneficial attempt at promoting the innovative development of time-honored brands.
